Long noncoding RNA HOXD-AS1 in various cancers: a meta-analysis and TCGA data review

Abstract: Background and aims: HOXD antisense growth-associated long noncoding RNA (HOXD-AS1) was reported to be upregulated in various cancers, such as gastric cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, colorectal cancer, and glioma. Here, we conducted a meta-analysis and The Cancer Genome Atlas data review to investigate the clinicopathologic and prognostic value of HOXD-AS1 in patients with malignant tumors.Materials and methods: Systematic literatures were searched from PubMed, Medline, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, EMBA… Show more

“…Differential expression of HAGLR was upregulated in HCC [ 40 , 41 ]. Mounting evidence suggests that high expression of HAGLR is related to clinicopathological features such as tumor size, lymph node metastasis, differentiation, TNM stage, and prognosis [ 42 , 43 ]. LINC02202 can regulate the expression of PIK3R1 and FOXO1 genes in PI3K signaling pathway [ 44 ].…”

“…Despite rapid developments in medical technology and the increasing number and sophistication of treatment methods for tumors, the overall prognosis of cancer remains poor. One of the main reasons for this poor overall prognosis is the lack of specific markers for tumor diagnosis; thus, when a patient is diagnosed with cancer, it has usually progressed to the middle and late stages [ 4 ]. As a consequence of this delay in diagnosis, the optimal opportunity to treat cancer is usually lost.…”
