Long noncoding RNA NBAT-1 suppresses tumorigenesis and predicts favorable prognosis in ovarian cancer

Abstract: Long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) has been proven to be involved in many biological processes in ovarian cancer (OC). However, the mechanism still remains unknown. In this study, we screened significantly downregulated NBAT-1, which has been proven to play a significant role in breast cancer, clear cell renal cell carcinoma, and neuroblastoma, but not in OC, in two independent datasets with relatively more samples (GSE18520 and GSE38666) from Gene Expression Omnibus. We found that lncRNA NBAT-1 was obviously downreg… Show more

“…NBAT1 was initially downregulated in high‐risk neuroblastomas . The anticarcinogenic effects of NBAT1 has been reported in solid tumors, such as ovarian cancer (OC), glioblastoma, gastric cancer (GC) and non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) . Identifying the downstream targets of NBAT1 will elucidate its critical role in RCC progression.…”

“…Numerous lncRNAs are involved in regulating EOC biology through various ways. In addition, certain lncRNAs, including AB073614 (32), colon cancer associated transcript 2 (33) and neuroblastoma associated transcript 1 (34), have been demonstrated to be potential prognostic markers in patients with EOC. However, the significance of CASC2 in EOC has not been elucidated yet.…”
