“…The most serious complication reported in the literature following PAABO use in PAS surgery is arterial thrombosis, with rates of 0.8−1%. [ 6 , 14 ] A meta-analysis comparing PAABO with more distal balloon occlusion demonstrated a higher rate of thrombosis with the latter, thought in part to be related to a higher degree of blood loss. [ 2 ] Studies on aortic clamping duration in abdominal aortic aneurysm or trauma surgeries have shown it to be safe for at least 50 min, and we never exceeded this in our patients.…”

“…Pregnancy combined with PPP is likely to lead to premature delivery, DIC, hemorrhagic shock, placental abruption. [ 5 ] One of the most common consequences of PPP is massive hemorrhage during or after labor, with a incidence rate of about 53.9%, of which about 50% of patients have their uterus removed due to intractable massive hemorrhage, and about 7% of patients have died. [ 6 ] How to screen high-risk patients, effectively control bleeding, what kind of the most beneficial intervention measures to choose for patients with PPP are the most urgent questions to answer and solve at present.…”

“…Placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) is a condition of abnormal placental invasion encompassing the placenta accreta, increta, and percreta, which is a major cause of severe maternal morbidity and mortality (1). PAS has become more common with the increasing rate of cesarean sections (2)(3)(4).…”
