“…These rates are well comparable to the HoLEP (0–44%) [2, 3, 27], TURP (0–38%) [2, 3, 27], ThuVEP (5.6–27%) [8, 17, 24], PVP (0–22%) [27] and ThuVaRP (8.5–23.1%) [9, 12, 23, 25] series. However, the actual rates of transient incontinence after TURP and laser prostatectomy are presumably higher due to a lack of a standardized reporting postoperative transient incontinence and dysuria.…”

“…The perioperative Hb decrease was significantly higher after ThuVEP compared to that after ThuVaRP (0.9 vs. 0.4 g/dL), but the Hb decrease after ThuVEP in our series is well comparable to the Hb decrease in the ThuVaRP (0.8–0.92 g/dL) group [9, 12, 23, 26] and ThuVEP literature [16-18]. In accordance with the low Hb decrease, the rate of postoperative blood transfusions was low and not different between both groups (1.3%) and in line with the HoLEP [2, 3], PVP [2, 3], ThuVaRP [4, 6, 9-14, 22-26], and ThuVEP [7, 8, 16-18] literature.…”

“…In 2014, Sun and colleagues evaluated the longterm durability and complication rates after TmLRP through a large, prospective, multicenter study [Sun et al 2015]. A total of 2016 patients were treated with TmLRP at four medical centers and were followed for up to 8 years (61.1% followed for 5 years, 24.4% followed for 8 years One unique aspect of this study was the reporting of long-term complications.…”

“…In 2010, an international group of users (Thulium Laser Working Group) evaluated and reflected in a consensus statement the development and early clinical results of this laser type [12], building on the first publication of 70-Watt Tm:YAG use in the prostate from 2007 [13]. Now, Xia and his co-workers, who reported their follow-up data on the Thulium laser operation in 2014 [14,15], contributed the first metaanalysis of nine RCTs on Tm:YAG vaporesection of the prostate (ThuVARP) [16].…”
