“…The Law on Vagrants and Thugs was selectively applied with class criteria since individuals in homosexual relationships belonging to powerful families were excluded from it. Therefore, a very high number of those judged by the courts of the time for homosexuality belonged to the most disadvantaged social groups; it was exceptional for someone belonging to the upper social class to be sentenced to prison for homosexuality (Herrero-Brasas, 2001 ; Huard, 2016 ; Díaz, 2019 ).
