“…Despite its importance, Portuguese immigration to Switzerland has attracted little scholarly attention (see, however, Marques, 2002, 2006) as compared to other migration flows in Switzerland (Italians, Spaniards) (Buechler, 1987; Wicker et al, 2003) or to older Portuguese migration flows to other countries (Brazil, the United States, Canada, France) (Baganha, 1990; Brettell, 2003; Klimt, 1989; Leeds, 1987).
