Abstract:The Mexican cavefish, Astyanaxmexicanus, is a captivating model for probing cave adaptations, showcasing pronounced divergence in traits like vision, brain morphology, behaviour, pigmentation, and hypoxia tolerance compared to its surface-dwelling counterpart.
