Loss of UHRF2 Is Associated With Non-small Cell Lung Carcinoma Progression

Abstract: Recent evidence indicated ubiquitin like with PHD and ring finger domains 2 (UHRF2) was involved in various human diseases, especially in cancer, however, its roles in cancer are still in dispute. Here, we found UHRF2 expression was decreased in lung cancer tissues compared with adjacent normal tissues by referring to the Oncomine Database, which was further identified by immunoblotting and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction assays. Secondly, we found knockdown of UHRF2 in A549 and 95-D cell line… Show more

“… 29 The abundance of UHRF2 in lung cancer was lower, and UHRF2 knockout in A549 and 95-D cell lines enhanced the proliferation, invasion and migration of NSCLC cells, while overexpression of UHRF2 inhibited the proliferation, invasion and migration of NSCLC cells. 30 Our results showed that this gene acted as an oncogene in colon cancer, which was consistent with other studies. 31 , 32 UHRF2 was upregulated at both transcription and translation levels in CRC tumor tissue.…”

“…A total of 200 paraffin-embedded NSCLC tumours and matched peritumours were constructed tissue micro-array (TMA) as previously described 16. EI2BL antibody (Abcam, ab187894) were used to detect density of expression in the TMA.…”

“…For example, in the study of human esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, low abundance of UHRF2 was found to be associated with vascular invasion of squamous cell carcinoma and was an independent prognostic factor for poor prognosis [29]. The abundance of UHRF2 in lung cancer was lower, and UHRF2 knockout in A549 and 95-D cell lines enhanced the proliferation, invasion and migration of NSCLC cells, while overexpression of UHRF2 inhibited the proliferation, invasion and migration of NSCLC cells [30]. Our results show that this gene acts as an oncogene in colon cancer, which is consistent with other studies [31,32].…”
