“…For instance, negative attitudes toward stepmothers are related to their high level of stress, depression, and feelings of being a bad person (Doodson and Davies 2014;Henry and McCue 2009;Miller et al 2018;Shapiro 2014;Shapiro and Stewart 2011). These attitudes can be very distressing also for lesbian stepmothers who experience similar stigmatization despite the substantial support they had provided for stepchildren (Lavoie and Saint-Jacques 2020;Lorah 2007). “…However, studies also show that stepmothers commonly perceive their stepchildren as their own children and are strongly committed to social recognition of their role (Sanner & Coleman, 2017; van Houdt, 2022). These attitudes can be very distressing also for lesbian (stepmothers) who experience similar stigmatization despite the substantial emotional, practical and financial support they provided stepchildren (Lavoie & Saint-Jacques, 2020; Lorah, 2007). Although no differences were found concerning same-sex parents’ competence as compared with different-sex parents’ competence (e.g., Baiocco et al, 2018; Carone et al, 2018) negative attitudes against same-sex parents – as well as lesbian (stepmothers) still persist (Di Battista et al, 2020, 2021; Ioverno et al, 2018).…”

“…Studi tentang kelurga campuran sebelumnya telah banyak dilakukan (Schultz, 1987;Braithwaite, 1998;Baxter, 1999;Yuanita, 2005;Dupuis, 2010;Martin-Uzzi, 2013, Zeleznikow, 2015, Lavoie, 2020. Namun, studi-studi tersebut lebih fokus kepada komunikasi antara anggota dalam keluarga campuran serta melihat keluarga campuran dari sisi psikologis.…”
