Low Delay Technology Research of Transmission Line Tower Monitoring Network Integrating WSN and RFID

Abstract: The tower is a key component of the transmission line system and its stability and reliability is the guarantee for the safety of entire transmission line system. This paper proposes a transmission tower monitoring network integrating wireless sensor network (WSN) and radio frequency identification (RFID). Compared to current designs, the proposed monitoring network shows the advantages of low cost, fast fault locating, tracking and management of grid equipment, and long-time monitoring. Low delay design is cr… Show more

“…Some scholars have designed an agricultural product information management system based on RFID technology and public key so as to trace the information of agricultural products in the supply chain [19]. Other scholars have proposed the application of RFID technology in the field of animal traceability and health monitoring [20]. Some scholars proposed to introduce the RFID technology into the food supply chain to trace and share information from food production and processing to final sales and consumption, so as to realize the role of food safety supervision [21].…”

“…In recent years, the design of radio frequency identification (RFID) sensor tags has aroused widespread interest. Due to the working mechanism of backscattering, RFID sensor tags show the characteristics of simple circuit structure, low cost and low power consumption [9], which is especially suitable for long-term monitoring. Moreover, because each RFID sensor tag has unique ID information, it is suitable for rapid fault location.…”
