“…In a pilot study in IVF patients, administration of GRF was associated with a significant improvement in the ovarian response to HMG (in terms of plasma oestradiol concentrations), and slight increases in the number of recruited follicles and retrieved oocytes (Hugues et al, 1991). More recently, a case study has reported induction of ovulation after GRF treatment in a woman who had previously failed to respond to gonadotrophin stimulation (Busacca et al, 1996a) and controlled trials have suggested that GRF treatment can induce folliculogenesis and reduce the dose of gonadotrophin required for follicular growth (Duffy et al, 1995;Busacca et al, 1996b).
