Low-Power Long-Term Ambulatory Electrocardiography Monitor of Three Leads with Beat-to-Beat Heart Rate Measurement in Real Time

Frank Martínez-Suárez,
José Alberto García-Limón,
Jorge Enrique Baños-Bautista
et al.

Abstract: A low-power long-term ambulatory ECG monitor was developed for the acquisition, storage and processing of three simultaneous leads DI, aVF and V2 with a beat-to-beat heart rate measurement in real time. It provides long-term continuous ECG recordings until 84 h. The monitor uses a QRS complex detection algorithm based on the continuous wavelet transform with splines, which automatically selects the scale for the analysis of ECG records with different sampling frequencies. It includes a lead-off detection to co… Show more

“…Ren, Z. et al [ 15 ] proposed a hierarchical scheme for adaptive dynamic power management, optimizing battery life by transitioning the device to a low-power mode during periods of reduced service demand. Martínez-Suárez, F. et al [ 16 ] created an energy-efficient, long-term ambulatory ECG (electrocardiogram) monitor. They focused on optimizing the hardware circuitry, incorporating low-power components and processors, and implementing an efficient hibernation mode.…”

“…There are many different types of human signals, such as electrocardiograms, electroencephalograms, seismocardiography, and photoplethysmograms, among others [1][2][3][4][5][6]. These have an important role in pathological diagnostic processes.…”
