“…In addition to the sandwich structure, experimental and computational methods have also been developed to better understand the impact response in simpler composite laminates and metallic plates. Sarasini et al [22][23][24], Zouggar et al [25], Bandaru et al [26] , Zhang et al [27], M.…”

“…However, some properties of VO‐derived polymers remain an unsolved problem due to the long fatty acid chains that cause primarily increased flexibility and thus low T g value or poor mechanical resistance. Thus, many reinforcing agents were used to improve the overall properties of VO‐based materials, a lot of studies being focused on this research direction, studying, on the one hand, synthetic agents (POSS, glass fibers, and carbon nanotubes), and on the other hand, natural compounds (minerals, cellulose, and other vegetable‐based fiber) . In the literature, the hybrid materials based on VOs have been investigated in structure and physicochemical, thermal, mechanical properties, and last but not least, for the most varied applications.…”

“…Thus, many reinforcing agents were used to improve the overall properties of VO-based materials, a lot of studies being focused on this research direction, studying, on the one hand, synthetic agents (POSS, glass fibers, and carbon nanotubes), 7,8 and on the other hand, natural compounds (minerals, cellulose, and other vegetable-based fiber). [9][10][11][12] In the literature, the hybrid materials based on VOs have been investigated in structure and physicochemical, thermal, mechanical properties, and last but not least, for the most varied applications. More specifically, Huang et al synthesized hybrid polyurethanes based on soybean oil (SO) and doubledecker silsesquioxane, and they found that T g values, thermal stability, and tensile test results were significantly improved for the materials with the inclusion of POSS.…”

“…Therefore, the drop in flexural modulus with impacted specimens is attributed due to the loss of stiffness and increase in the deflection due to BVID. Furthermore, it is significantly evident and encouraging that the results for 4 mm fibri rock sample exhibits higher flexural (strength and modulus) properties when compared with common hemp FRP bio-composite sample of higher 5 mm thick under same energy levels of 5 and 10 J, used by Scarponi et al [8]. Results obtained in this study for similar thickness at both 5 and 10 J recorded greater flexural moduli of nearly 9.6 and 8.2 GPa, respectively, when compared with 7.8 and 7.4 GPa recorded at 6 and 9 J on hybrid hemp/basalt composite, as reported by Dhakal et al [9].…”
