<i>Distichophyllum mittenii</i> (Bryophyta: Daltoniaceae) – A new record for India

Abstract:Distichophyllum mittenii Bosch & Sande Lac. is recorded for the first time in India from the Western Ghats. It was earlier known from Australia and Asian countries other than India. A detailed description with a photographic plate and a key distinguishing D. mittenii from the rest of the indigenous species is provided. A distribution map including all the Distichophyllum species so far recorded for India is also provided.
