<p>Long Non-Coding RNA NRAD1 and LINC00152 are Highly Expressed and Associated with Prognosis in Patients with Hepatocellular Carcinoma</p>

Abstract: Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is prevalent throughout the world. The aim of this study is to explore new long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) associated with hepatocellular carcinoma and detect their expression levels in hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines and tissues. These results will provide new clues on further function and biomarker studies of HCC-related lncRNAs. Patients and Methods: All patients were diagnosed as HCC between 30th, March, 2015 and 30th, July, 2018. LncRNA human gene expression m… Show more

“…Linc00284 derives from NRAD1. Consistent with the results obtained for other types of cancer ( Xing et al, 2018 ; Zhao et al, 2018 ; Ruan and Zhao, 2019 ; Vidovic et al, 2020 ; Wang et al, 2020a , b ), an exceptionally high Linc00284 expression was also observed in LC, suggesting that Linc00284 may be an important tumor-promoting factor. Moreover, Linc00284 silencing by RNAi suppressed cancer cell proliferation in vitro and in vivo .…”

“…Non-coding RNA in the aldehyde dehydrogenase 1 A pathway (NRAD1) is known as LINC00284 ( Vidovic et al, 2020 ) with a length of 2,564 bp and is located on chromosome 13q14.11. An abnormally high expression of LINC00284 has been observed in several types of cancer ( Xing et al, 2018 ; Zhao et al, 2018 ; Ruan and Zhao, 2019 ; Vidovic et al, 2020 ; Wang et al, 2020a , b ). Research into primary papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) has demonstrated that LINC00284 is tightly associated with the overall survival of patients with PTC ( Zhao et al, 2018 ).…”

“…Specifically, higher expression of LINC00152 in children with B-ALL was associated with a higher risk of early relapse; conversely, lower expression of LINC01013 was associated with early relapse. The lncRNA LINC00152 is also known as CYTOR (long non-coding RNA cytoskeleton regulator RNA) and has been previously described as an oncogenic lncRNA in many different types of cancer (e.g., [ 92 , 93 , 94 , 95 , 96 , 97 ]) and may serve as a potential biomarker for cancer detection in both solid tumor tissue and plasma [ 98 , 99 ]. Overall, these reports indicate that lncRNA expression can serve as useful biomarkers in B-ALL.…”
