“…The high sensitivity and fast response of TDLAS [68][69][70][71][72][73][74][75][76] enable the monitoring of plant controlling parameters such as O 2 and CO. TDLAS applications extend to O 2 [77], CO [78], H 2 O [69,73,77], CO 2 [73,78], C 2 H 2 [79], NH 3 [80], OH [78], HCl [81], NO [82], NO 2 [83], etc, and applications in high-pressure and high-temperature fields have been discussed [84][85][86]. Although extensive research has been performed to utilize diode laser absorption spectroscopy for combustion control [74][75][76][77][78], applications consist primarily of smallscale test combustors, and usage for large-scale commercial combustors has been rather limited [86]. Accordingly, this report also describes the real-time measurement of the O 2 and CO concentrations in a 300 ton day −1 commercial incinerator furnace to improve combustion control using the in-furnace O 2 and CO concentrations measured at multiple points in the combustion area.…”
