<title>Study of red emission accompanied by the pulsed chemical iodine laser</title>

Abstract: Intense red emission was observed occasionally when a pulsed chemical oxygen-iodine laser was operated. The intensity of this emission was at least 100 times higher than any known emission of the oxygen-iodine system. The time history of the emission intensity indicated that it was pumped by the iodine laser. It seemed to be that the rust of the iodine injector was closely related to this emission.
