Abstract: Summary The benefits of lumbar epidural analgesia may be made available more easiy in peripheral hospitals if obstetricians give the injections themselves, instead of being dependent on anesthetic colleagues to do so. The technique used is described in detail and the results given in a series of 100 patients.
