“…In the Pr 3+ ‐doped perovskite titanates, the IVCT bands were clearly observed and the shortest Pr 3+ – M n+ distances in these compounds in the range of 3.15–3.3 Å 4 . The IVCT band was also observed in BaTi 4 O 9 :Pr 3+ , and the shortest Pr 3+ – M n+ distances in it is 3.68 Å 7 . These distances are compatible with a significant overlap between the 4 f orbitals of Pr 3+ and the d orbitals of the M n+ , which would strongly favor the Pr– M n+ electron transfer.…”
