Luminescent AuI–CuI Triphosphane Clusters That Contain Extended Linear Arylacetylenes

Abstract: Reactions of the [(tppm)Au 3 Cl 3 ] [tppm = tris(diphenylphosphanyl)methane] precursor and Cu I ions with a stoichiometric amount of the corresponding linear mono-[HC 2 (C 6 H 4 ) n -C 6 H 5 ; n = 1, 2] and diacetylenes [HC 2 (C 6 H 4 ) n C 2 H; n = 1-3] that contain extended polyaryl moieties afford a series of luminescent heterometallic complexes with a common structural motif based on the {(AuC 2 ) 3 Cu} cluster core.
