Lyapunov’s Stability of Non-Linear Misaligned Journal Bearings

Abstract: In this paper the stability of non-linear misaligned rotor-bearing systems is investigated, using the Lyapunov direct method. A finite element formulation is used to determine the journal bearing pressure distribution.
