Lymphocytes and neutrophils count after two cycles and TTF1 expression as early outcome predictors during immunotherapy (IT) in stage IV non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients.

Abstract: e20553 Background: NSCLC therapeutic paradigm has changed with immune checkpoint blockers. Biomarkers predicting clinical benefit are still lacking. As previously shown in melanoma, changes in absolute lymphocytes and neutrophils count (ALC and ANC) during IT (PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors) may be related to response in NSCLC (Nakamuta et al, Oncotarget 2016). TTF1 expression has been associated with PD-L1 expression (Vieira et al, Lung Cancer 2016). We aimed to investigate TTF1 expression and changes in ALC and ANC … Show more

“…The positive association between PD-L1 and TTF-1 expression has been reported in pulmonary sarcomatoid carcinomas ( 33 ). Furthermore, TTF-1 expression was shown to predict the response to immune checkpoint inhibitors in NSCLC ( 34 ). So it can be speculated that high TTF-1 expression could be a predictive marker for anti-PD-1/PD-L1 therapy in SCLC.…”

“…TTF‐1 expression has most frequently been associated with microsatellite stability rather than MSI‐H CRCs 6. Of greatest interest, in patients with lung adenocarcinoma, TTF‐1 expression has been associated with increased PDL1 expression, dramatic responses to ICI therapy (83% versus 16%) and improved survival 9. Consequently, TTF‐1 may be an important predictive biomarker of ICI response in mCRC and warrants further investigation in this regard.…”
