Abstract:We consider the problem of probe-based quantum thermometry, and show that machine classification can provide reliable estimates over a broad range of scenarios. Our approach is based on the k-nearest-neighbor algorithm. Temperature is divided into bins, and the machine trains a predictor based on data from observations at different times (obtained e.g. from computer simulations or other experiments). This yields a predictor, which can then be used to estimate the temperature from new observations. The algorith… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
