Magnetic and Thermodynamic Properties of Nanosized Zn Ferrite with Normal Spinal Structure Synthesized Using a Facile Method

Abstract: Normal spinel zinc ferrite (ZnFe2O4) nanoparticles (NPs) with zero net magnetization were synthesized by a facile coprecipitation method in which two kinds of organic alkali, namely, 1-amino-2-propanol (MIPA) and bis(2-hydroxypropyl)-amine (DIPA), were used. The diameters of the ZnFe2O4 NPs were determined to be about 7 and 9 nm for samples prepared with MIPA and DIPA, respectively, and the normal spinel structure was confirmed by the magnetic property measurement at room temperature and the temperature depend… Show more

“…The observed results were in good agreement with earlier reports, indicating the oxidation state of Fe was +3. Furthermore, the inset in Figure S6 shows the high‐resolution O 1s spectra with binding energy of 530.24 eV resulting from the lattice oxygen (O 2– ) in the prepared ZnFe 2 O 4 thin film 29…”

“…5, two characteristics absorption peaks at about 466 cm −1 and 1100 cm −1 are belongs to Ti-O stretching [33,34]. Furthermore, the absorption peaks at around 550 cm −1 can be assigned to tetrahedral Zn-O bonds while absorption peak at around 415 cm −1 can be associated to octahedral Fe-O bonds [35,36].…”

“…To overcome the difficulty, several wet chemical synthesis techniques have been developed, including sol-gel method (SG), hydrothermal and co-precipitation (CP), which have the advantage of good chemical homogeneity, high purity and low temperature processing in comparison with solid state reaction [9][10][11][12].…”
