Magnetic anisotropy and magnetodielectric coefficients in Cr2O3 and Fe0.4Cr1.6O3

Abstract: The temperature dependence of magnetization, magnetic anisotropy, coercive field and the magnetodielectric coefficient of Cr 2 O 3 (undoped) and Fe 0.4 Cr 1.6 O 3 (doped) was experimentally investigated. Test data shows that the presence of Fe ions at the interstitial spaces of the Cr 2 O 3 crystal lattice decreases the Neel Temperature by $80 K when compared to the undoped Cr 2 O 3 . Also both the doped and undoped samples display maxima in magnetic anisotropy and magnetodielectric coefficient as a function o… Show more

“…In this spectrum, there were broadened peaks at 530-660 cm −1 . One of the most probable causes of these peaks was the formation of an Fe-Cr-O compound [47]. The production of this compound in the track is easy to explain, given the relatively intense wear of the steel ball and the effective adhesion (and deformation) of wear debris on the MoS 2 surface in the sliding track region.…”

“…It has a band gap ( E g ) of 3.4 eV with Neel temperature T N = 307K . Due to high chemical stability and catalytic potential, Cr 2 O 3 has gained substantial importance in the chemical industry . It has been used for low‐ and medium‐temperature selective solar absorber due to its high refractive index .…”

“…Its optical band gap makes it the green colourant of choice in the pigment industry for ceramics, coatings, paints and printing. Because of its high chemical stability, α-Cr 2 O 3based catalysts are also of importance for the chemical industry in the preparation of several important commodity chemicals and have also been investigated for their potential as Li cathodes (4)(5)(6)(7)(8)(9)(10). As a result of its high refractive index, it is also finds use in cermets designed for low and medium temperature-selective solar absorbers (11)(12)(13)(14)(15)(16).…”
