Magnetic Hyperfine Interaction of a Cubic Defect in α-Iron

Abstract: PAC measurements on 111 In( 111 Cd) implanted and thermally treated a-Fe have shown an indication for a cubic defect with the 111 Cd probe in the centre of it. The measured room temperature (R. T.) magnetic hyperfine fields are B hf1 = j38.4(8) T for substitution and B hf2 = +11.5(3) T for the cubic defect. Additionally, probes with pure quadrupole frequency distributions were observed, which are incorporated in surface contaminations.
