Magnetic Properties of Al‐doped B4C and SiC Ceramics

Abstract: Al-doped B 4 C and Al-doped SiC ceramic compounds were synthesized by high-temperature solid-state sintering. Ferromagnetic (FM) ordering was observed in the doped semiconducting ceramics. The changes in the FM ordering with doping level were different in the two doped systems although they were prepared by similar experimental condition. Our results indicated that some of the C in B 4 C were replaced by the Al atoms, and these displaced C atoms existed in the form of graphite. The synthesized SiC samples, und… Show more

“…All of them are heterovalent and vastly reduce laser efficiency when the ceramics is used as a host to rare-earth ions. Recent investigations reveals a potential of La 2 O 3 to serve as an isovalent aid to sinter both undoped [6] and doped with ether Yb 3+ [7] or Nd 3+ [8] yttria ceramics. This paper deals with fabrication and investigation of highly transparent Yb-doped yttrium lanthanum oxide ceramics.…”

“…At working conditions oxide ions flow through the cell membrane from cathode to the porous anode and these reactions will be shifted from their initial equilibrium position to new equilibria. 25 It has been found that the fraction of Ce 3+ in the ceria lattice is dependent on the concentration and chemical nature of the dopant. For example, if Ce 0.8 Sm 0.2 O 1.9 is doped with 10 percent of indium then In makes Ce 4+ more resistant to reduction.…”

“…This method has been used in several studies to analyze of oxidation states of ceria based electrolyte/anode materials, Ni-based anodes and perovskite type cathodes. [23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30] Reaction kinetics and microstructures of electrodes have been studied during redox cycles of Ni-anodes using in situ scanning probe microscopy and in situ environmental transmission electron microscopy. 31,32 Ni redox cycles and effects of carbon deposition have been studied with in situ and operando Raman spectroscopy.…”

“…On the other hand, doping with Al [34] or vanadium carbide [33] could reduce the FM in the SiC. In case of this study, FM in SiC ref.…”
