“…Novel 3D and 4D echocardiographic techniques, such as spatiotemporal image correlation, have shown some potential for adjunctive imaging and can be visualised in three dimensions, but are still subject to many of the same limitations as conventional ultrasound . Promisingly, however, and in keeping with animal models, our initial data suggest a promising strength of fetal MRI in vascular imaging, particularly using SSFSE sequences. To date, the only other report examining the clinical utility of fetal cardiac MRI used bSSFP sequences only, at a similar median gestational age to our series, interpreted blindly in 40 fetuses with CHD.…”

“…[24] A recent study by Yamamura, et al ., also demonstrated MRI's ability to allow for complete evaluation of fetal great vessels, a task often not accomplished with echocardiography. [25]…”

“…The role of fetal MRI as an adjunct tool to US has grown in the past several years 35 . Although several studies have documented the potential of MRI in diagnosing congenital heart defects 611 and vascular abnormalities 12, 13 , the application of prenatal MRI to persistent LSVC has, to the best of our knowledge, not yet been reported.…”
