Abstract:The magnetoelastic interaction energy of a cubic ferromagnet is expressed in a most general coordinate system, to facilitate the theoretical investigations of magnetoelastic wave propagation in ferromagnets, when the direction of magnetization relative to the cube edges is arbitrary. The coefficients of the various terms in the expression of the magnetoelastic interaction energy are tabulated. Some special cases are also discussed.
