Magnetoelectric Energy in Electrodynamics: Magnetoelectricity, Bi(an)isotropy, and Magnetoelectric Meta‐Atoms
Eugene O. Kamenetskii
Abstract:Magnetoelectricity denotes the relationship between electric polarization and magnetization. In materials with an intrinsic magnetoelectric (ME) effect, the energy density comprises the polarization, magnetization, and ME energy densities. These three components of energy define local (subwavelength) characteristics of electromagnetic (EM) responses in multiferroic materials. In a subwavelength domain, coupling between the electric and magnetic dipole oscillations forms the ME field structures that are charact… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
