In honour of Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. P. GORLICH'S 70th birthday Recently both authors have calculated the mode Gruneisen parameters of RbI using different methods. A critical comparison is made and the consequences of different approximations for the third order coupling constants are discussed. It is shown that the pressure dependence of a t least five shell model parameters has to be taken into account in order to reproduce the measured pressure derivatives of the elastic and dielectric constants. I n the most stringent approximation, however, where only the third order terms of the rigid part of the shell model are taken into account in the central potential approximation, qualitative agreement with the measured mode Gruneisen dispersion curves is still maintained. Die verschiedenen Methoden, mit denen die beiden A.utoren kurzlich die individuellenGruneisenparameter von Rb J berechnet haben, werden kritisch verglichen. Es werden die Auswirkungen der verschiedenen Naherungen fur die Kopplungskonstanten dritter Ordnung untersucht. Es wird gezeigt, daJ3 die Druckabhkngigkeit von wenigstens funf Schalenmodellparametern berucksichtigt werden mnB, um die gemessene Druckabhlngigkeit der elastischen und dielektrischen Konstanten wiederzugeben. I n der einschneidendsten NLherung, in der nur die Druckabhangigkeit der starren-Ionen-Anteile des Schalenmodells in der Zentralpotentialniherung berucksichtigt wird, kann jedoch immer noch eine qualitative Ubereinstimmung mit den gemessenen Dispersionskurven der individuellen Gruneisenparameter erreicht werden.
