Main Principals and Issues of Digital Twin Development for Complex Technological Processes

Abstract: To provide increasing of effectiveness of industrial systems with achievement of the guaranteed product quality, the manufacturing digital transformation paradigm is applied. According to Industry 4.0 concept, adaptive, client-oriented automatic control of product life cycle is the basic approach in global manufacturing digitalization. Such technologies as Big Data, Cloud Services, advanced analytic algorithms, have to be implemented to provide an effective control for complex technological processes. Therefor… Show more

“…Numerous DT architectures have been proposed in the literature-some papers review them [3,7]. Among the most referenced architectures, one may cite [1,2,[9][10][11][12][13][14], to name a few. Nevertheless, all these DT architectures are fully compliant with Kritzinger's taxonomy and thus define automatic flows of data between DT and the PT.…”

“…One such example involving the integration of various software tools for a DT of a single robotic cell is shown in [110]. More information on the issues and challenges faced during the development of DT for complex process are discussed in [134]. Here, an architecture framework to build, control and communicate with the DT model is implemented in an industrial environment.…”
