“…In this study the secondary alveolar cleft grafting technique was carried out between 7 and 12 years ago, and this is in agreement with Lin C et al 28 , who stated that, this age is the most suitable timing for residual alveolar cleft grafting to avoid the detrimental effects on the transverse growth of the maxilla which is nearly completed by about the 6 or 7 years of age.…”

“…Eosinophilia and lots of patients with eosinophil count close to higher normal limits were seen and was probably due to local climatic factors and co-incidental worm infestation or allergy which can be attributed to this geographical region where allergies are common. [ 7 28 ] Absolute eosinophil count (AEC) was therefore considered to be a more suitable parameter in these patients for evaluation of these specific granulocytes. Whatever the reason, the raised values are significant and it delays the surgical management by 5–7 days, which again is unaffordable by these poverty stricken patients and their attendants.…”

“…It is demonstrated that operative procedures in appropriately prepared patients with blood disorder are not associated with a high mortality rate (Lin et al, 2000). In this case, we decided to operate after consulting with the anesthetist and hematologist.…”

“…An association of cleft lip, palate, or both with other congenital anomalies or syndromes is not unusual with reported frequencies ranging from 6% to 63% (Shprintzen et al, 1985). However, the combination of cleft lip and palate with blood disorders has been rarely reported, probably due to the rarity of such coexisting conditions (Lin et al, 2000). Here, we report a case of cleft lip, alveolus, and palate associated with cyclic neutropenia.…”
