Majorana bound state in the continuum: Coupling between a Majorana bound state and a quantum dot mediated by a continuum energy spectrum

Abstract: In this work, we consider a single-level quantum dot (QD) and a Majorana bound state (MBS) placed at the end of a topological superconducting nanowire (TSW). Both are coupled to the continuum and do not have a direct connection between them. We addressed the behavior of MBS leaking phenomena and its consequences into the QD physics in non-interacting and Coulomb blockade regime. By employing Green's function formalism via the equation of motion procedure, we calculate the physical quantities of interest. Our r… Show more

“…The Majorana mode is assumed to be provided by a fully polarized spin-down. [24] When we consider the spin-dependent coupling, the quantum dot will be changed by the spin coupling in the electrode. When p increases, the corresponding spin-down coupling is strengthened.…”

“…[19][20][21] The QD-coupled Majorana wire was used to detect the Majorana bound states under the spin-polarized condition. [22][23][24][25][26] They explored the spin properties inside the Majorana by constructing the coupling between the electrode and the Majorana QD system. [27][28][29] Studying the spin-dependent properties plays an important role in the hybrid Majorana QD system.…”

“…On the other hand, the incorporation of QDs to systems hosting MZMs has posed the question of how do quantum correlation effects might influence eventual measurements [13][14][15]. The Kondo effect in single occupation QDs shows itself as conductance peaks close * gustavo.lara@uantof.cl to zero-energy [16].…”

“…[31] Furthermore, Floquet MBSs (zero mode and π mode) were theoretically studied in planar Josephson junctions, in which the subharmonic response to the external drive tuned by a top gate was found when both zero and π Majorana modes are present. [34] Additionally, in the latest reports, [35][36][37][38] nanosystems consisting of a hybrid superconducting nanowire coupled to a single QD and/or double quantum dots (DQDs) attached to a single normal metallic lead have been theoretically discussed.…”
