This paper examines the resilience of the upper Thailand longan supply chain’s management in lens of nominee Sino-enterprises' impact over present and future disruption that caused the weaknesses and strengths of the supply chain. The nominee Sino-enterprises contributed the upper Thailand longan supply chain in terms of promoting the production efficiency and advanced technology utilizing, however, they could also be a disruption in the supply chain while dealing with the future competitions and changing future labor structure of Thailand. The nominee Sino-enterprises have brought both positive and negative impacts to the supply chain, utilize the strengths and avoid the weaknesses of the longan supply chain in upper Thailand would be a strategy of the supply chain riding the waves of nominee Sino-enterprises have brought and filling in the cracks of the future challenges of the supply chain. Therefore, the local, regional and subregional governments should take corresponding policies to achieve inclusive and sustainable development in upper Thailand. Fruit discoloration and fruit rot disease in longan is a serious disease caused by the pathogenic fungi Pestalotiopsis oxyanthi and Lasiodiplodia pseudotheobromae. This study investigated the potential of antagonistic bacteria as an eco-friendly alternative to traditional fungicides for managing longan diseases caused by these fungal pathogens. Two bacterial isolates, UP-JLS050 and UP-JLS067, demonstrated significant inhibitory activity against the pathogenic fungi P. oxyanthi and L. pseudotheobromae, with high inhibitory activity. The bacterial strains were isolated from leaves and soil in a longan garden, and dual culture methods showed that the isolates UP-JLS050 and UP-JLS067 exhibited the highest inhibitory activity on the fungal pathogens, with percentage inhibitions of 72.67 ± 2.31 and 70.37 ± 1.28 %, respectively. Biochemical methods and molecular techniques, including sequencing of the 16S rDNA gene, were then used to identify the isolates. This confirmed their similarity to Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus amyloliquefaciens with 100 and 99 % identity, respectively. In vitro tests on longan fruit indicated that these antagonistic bacteria, administered at a concentration of 108 CFU/mL, significantly reduced disease incidence by up to 45 % after 9 days of incubation. The incubation of B. subtilis (UP-JLS050) and B. amyloliquefaciens (UP-JLS050) reduced disease incidence by 45 ± 5.77 and 32.5 ± 5.00 %, respectively. The kinetic profiles of Candida tropicalis TISTR 5306 cultivation based on modified yeast-malt (MYM), assorted grade fresh longan juice (AsgLG) and longan solid waste extract (LSWE) medium were evaluated in 1 l batch mode. The highest ethanol concentration level (25.5 ± 0.8 g/l) and ethanol yield -Y p/s of 0.491 ± 0.017 g ethanol/g consumed substrate, dried biomass concentration level (9.44 ± 0.05 g/l) and dried biomass yield -Y x/s of 0.533 ± 0.170 g dried biomass/g consumed substrate, specific pyruvate decarboxylase (PDC) activity (0.037 ± 0.003 U/mg protein) were achieved (p ≤ 0.05) in AsgLG medium. Scores ranking strategy were employed and AsgLG medium was subsequently selected with in the highest total score (p ≤ 0.05) of 698 ± 7 at 48 h. The cultivation in fed-batch mode with three rounds of pulse feeding (PF) in 1 l AsgLG medium was carried out. The apparent highest ethanol and dried biomass concentration levels with corresponding yields relative to time zero were (28.3 ± 0.5 g/l, 0.482 ± 0.012 g/g) at 120 h of PF2 and (9.39 ± 0.04 g/l, 0.110 ± 0.001 g/g) at 192 h of PF3. The maximum specific PDC activity was 0.057 ± 0.006 U/mg protein during PF1 feeding.
