Abstract:Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease with high risk of skin and systemic infections. Preventive AD therapy is based on skin barrier improvement and anti-inflammatory treatment, whereas, severe skin and systemic infections require systemic therapy. This review describes pathophysiology and possible treatment and prevention methods for AD infectious complications.
