Management of blunt intraperitoneal bladder rupture: Case report and literature review

Abstract: Highlights Urinary bladder rupture is uncommon, occurring in 0.36% of blunt abdominal trauma. Intraperitoneal ruptures are emergencies with >20% mortality when undiagnosed. CT and plain film cystography are the most sensitive and specific diagnostic imaging. Indwelling bladder catheters should remain in for at least 7 days postoperatively.
