Management of Patients with Cirrhosis and Portal Hypertension Requiring Surgery

Abstract: Cirrhosis significantly increases surgical morbidity and mortality as it causes derangement of multiple organ systems and physiological processes. As such, chronic liver disease and the resultant portal hypertension present distinct perioperative challenges.
