In this paper we show that an ATM network architecture equipped with Connectionless Servers at the ATM switches is suitable for SMDS support.We propose a multicast tree computation scheme based on the underlying routing procedure. Then, we consider two different address handling methods: encapsulation and nonencapsulation and we compare their effectiveness in providing multicast service. 1062growth of SMDS over the B-ISDN network.
