Abstract: Radiotherapy is an effective cancer treatment, particularly for pelvic tumours. The number of patients with pelvic cancer being diagnosed and successfully treated is growing. Radiotherapy to the pelvis causes lasting side-effects collectively referred to as pelvic radiation disease (PRD), including bowel, bladder, sexual dysfunction, vaginal and cervical stenoses, and menopause.
