MANET Testbed using Raspberry PIs

Abstract: Mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs) are without any infrastructure and consists only of equal peers. This paper presents an empirical tests for MANET routing protocols. The testbed based on Linux platform installed in mobile computers. Some parameters are analyzed such as movement speed and the number of hops which impact on routing performance. The testbed consists of several Raspberry Pis (RPis) without the need for any central master device. For making the RPis mobile and independent of any fixed power sockets,… Show more

“…To examine the influence of data rates of source nodes on QoS in MANETs, the simulation is executed for unicast DSR, and multicast AODV routing protocol where the total amount of source and destination nodes is to keep constant at 1 node, and 30 nodes correspondingly. The data rate of each source node is increased from 2 to 20 pkts/sec (2,4,8,12,16, and 20 pkts/sec) and the seven QoS metrics are estimated.…”

“…With the appearance of novel technologies and convenient mobile computing devices, the application of mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs) has upraised for group computing services. It allows a set of wireless clients to form temporary work-groups and communicate with each other without using an access point (AP) [1,2,3]. MANETs are very interesting in multimedia and group-oriented computing for their quick formation ability of temporary networks.…”
