Mangiferin stimulates chondrogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells from subchondral bone and targets multiple aspects of smads and SOX9 pathways
Abstract:Purpose: To assess the effect that mangiferin(1), a standard component of WIN-34B, has on chondrogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs) from rabbit subchondral bone. Methods: Histological analysis was performed by alcian blue, oil red O, and alizarin red staining to evaluate if progenitor cells from rabbit subchondral bone have chondrogenic, adipogenic, and osteogenic differentiation capacity. Changes in levels of chondrogenic markers type II
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
