Abstract:Mantids are influential generalist predators in terrestrial systems. Therefore, large mantid species like the European mantid, Mantis religiosa (Linnaeus, 1758), are often used by humans and purposefully introduced as a form of biocontrol, greatly expanding their geographic ranges.
