Manual lymphatic drainage and therapeutic ultrasound in liposuction and lipoabdominoplasty post-operative period

Abstract: Background:Physiotherapy in the plastic surgery post-operative (PO) is essential to provide means for an adequate and fast recovery as it restores function through the use of physiotherapeutic procedures.Aim:The aim of the following study is to verify the effects of the association between the manual lymphatic drainage and the therapeutic ultrasound on pain, oedema and the tissue fibrosis in liposuction and lipoabdominoplasty PO.Design:This is a clinical trial prospective.Materials and Methods:Eighteen women a… Show more

“…The burst of therapeutic ultrasounds is aimed at forcing the exit of SARS-CoV-2 from reservoirs or sanctuaries at the same time mechanically disrupting its molecular structures; during the following respiratory cycle, the virus and its debris would be removed by the flow of CSF and then the cycle could be repeated. In addition, it has to be considered that transcranial ultrasounds show anti-inflammatory and anti-edema effects (Zheng et al, 2020), and ultrasounds may favor CSF drainage in analogy with their known effects on lymphatic drainage (Masson et al, 2014).…”
