This study aims to promote students’ critical thinking skills and academic achievement using Interface Instrumentation Experiments-supported Blended Learning (IIE-BL). In this quasi-experimental study, 40 undergraduate students who took the Basic Physics II course from the Department of Physics Education at two private universities in Indonesia were assigned randomly as experimental and control groups. Experimental group students were taught using blended learning based on interface instrumentation technology, while the control group students were taught using conventional learning by the same lecturer. To collect data, the Critical Thinking Test (CTT) and Physics Achievement Test (PAT) were administered, which data were then analyzed in independent and paired t-tests, as well as the d-effect sizes test on SPSS 26 at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that students in the experimental group obtained significantly higher critical thinking skills and achievement scores than students in the control group. It can be concluded that IIE-BL is effective in improving students’ critical thinking skills and achievement in the Basic Physics II course. Educators are suggested to apply IIE-BL to promote student performance and catalyze their learning.

Harvesting the blackberry crop is a delicate process because it must be carried out in the first hours of the day in shallow containers and without overhandling to prevent deterioration of the fruit and its fermentation. In this work a prototype of an automated vehicle is developed to improve the harvesting process of the crop reducing the time without affecting the quality of the blackberry. CAD tools were used to design the structure of the prototype and Arduino boards were used for its control, while communication between the vehicle and the monitoring station was established with Xbee devices. The vehicle moves carrying the harvest product in baskets between the collection points and the warehouse. Automated loading and unloading systems eliminate double handling of the products and require less human intervention. Hence, the implementation of the vehicle for loading, transporting, and unloading the product of the blackberry harvest generates savings in production costs and improves collection times since workers will be able to focus on the selection, harvesting and classification process.

La investigación se centra en la implementación de un software de visualización de redes bibliométrica denominada VOSviewer, donde se procesan los registros obtenidos en la literatura científica, identificando los recientes avances en calderas de biomasa (caso de estudio: pellets) a pequeña escala, aplicando una metodología en análisis de redes y vigilancia de bases de datos, desarrollando redes con palabras clave, coautoría y acoplamiento bibliográfico, graficas que permiten visualizar las tendencias y resaltan el comportamiento de la comunidad académica sobre una determinada temática. Los autores con mayor relevancia, recomiendan la adición de caolín en biomasas, pudiéndose disminuir las emisiones contaminantes. También, destacan la implementación de tecnologías que controlen el flujo de aire primario y secundario en la combustión, repercutiendo en una mejora en la eficiencia, todo esto, con la extracción continua de cenizas sin tener que detener o afectar el proceso de combustión y el uso de filtros para material particulado.
