Abstract:The products of redox reactions that occur during the manufacture of opal matrix nanocompos ites in isopropanol under supercritical conditions are studied. Experimental data, thermodynamic calcula tions, and reaction yield values imply that hydrogen is formed in the catalytic dehydrogenation of isopropanol to acetone under supercritical conditions. The alcohol dehydrogenation catalysts are ultrafine d element oxides encapsulated in the pore space of an ordered opal matrix; in a closed experimental system (an a… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
