Assessment on the Basic Competencies of Senior High School Students in the Work Immersion

Work immersion is the process of exposing students to real-world work situations while also improving the competencies provided by the school. However, some students are struggling because they are not aware of the work immersion environment's tasks, responsibilities, and expectations. Thus, the researcher came up with an idea to formulate a pre-immersion training framework to equip and prepare senior high school students with essential skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary for a successful work immersion experience. The framework was drawn from the following results: the senior high school students' self-assessment of their basic competencies, senior high school trainers’ assessment of their senior high school students’ basic competencies, and their work immersion supervisor’s assessment of the basic competencies during their work immersion. It also assessed the senior high school trainers’ or the schools’ preparation for the students before exposing them to the work immersion field or establishment. Lastly, this study investigated if there is a significant difference between the senior high school trainers’ assessment and work immersion supervisors’ assessment of the senior high school students' basic competencies. The result revealed that the self-assessment of senior high school students on their basic competencies is highly competent (4.10). Both the senior high school trainers’(4.21) and work immersion supervisors’ assessments (4.24) on senior high school students revealed they are exceptionally competent. The results also revealed that there is no significant difference between the senior high school trainers’ and work immersion supervisors’ on the basic competencies of senior high school students.

Due to the high demand for quality goods and products, most manufacturing industries run their equipment and manufacturing teams more than expected to meet the demands. However, they do not regularly conduct maintenance and reliability checks to ascertain the industry's well-being. Operating their manufacturing systems and processes to achieve the requisite production rates of high-quality goods is a constant challenge for manufacturing industries in Nigeria due to a need for maintainability. To improve performance, this paper recently reviewed Nigeria's manufacturing industries' maintainability and reliability. The study examined articles that cut across, Maintainability scheduling in the production system with the analysis of Industry 4.0 Technologies, the reliability optimisation in the manufacturing industry in Nigeria, and the effects of sustainable maintainability and reliability implementation on manufacturing systems and the sustainability issues. Furthermore, the research highlighted the manufacturing industries' challenges regarding maintainability and reliability. Some of these challenges are insecurity, lousy infrastructure, inadequate company growth plans, and irregular taxation, which affect the day-to-day running of the industry. One of the most significant issues facing the manufacturing sector today is inventory management; nonetheless, many small manufacturers still manage their stocks by hand. Furthermore, this study provides possible suggestions for a sustainable way forward for these identified problems. Nigerian manufacturing industries might adopt Industry 4.0 technology, which will assist in successfully adopting total preventive maintenance as a strategy and culture. This article recommends a maintenance culture in the manufacturing industry. It also recommends self-auditing and benchmarking as ideal preconditions for total productive maintenance.

Üretim zincirinin her aşamasının dijitalleşmesi, makina-insan-altyapı etkileşiminin sağlanması sayesinde akıllı üretim sistemlerinin geliştirilmesi sanayide yeni bir yaklaşımı ve değişimi başlatmıştır. Günümüzde, teknolojiyi kullanarak katma değer üretebilen ve bu teknolojilerin gerektirdiği teknik becerilere sahip çözümler sunabilen çalışanlar daha avantajlı hale gelmektedir. Bu nedenle mesleki teknik eğitimin niteliğini artırmaya yönelik çalışmaların odağında bireylerin yeni teknolojilere kolayca uyum sağlamalarını ve öğrenmeyi öğrenmelerini sağlayan modeller geliştirmenin önemi her geçen gün daha da artmaktadır. Bu çalışmada sunulan esnek üretim sistemleri deney seti, ürün esnekliği ve istasyon sıralama esnekliği gibi yapılanma imkanı sunan bir fabrika otomasyon seti olarak planlanmıştır. Deney seti endüstriyel otomasyon ve haberleşme, veri işleme, hareket kontrol sistemleri, basınç, boyut vb. fiziksel değişkenlerin ölçülmesi ve analizi, kestirimci bakım, durum izleme, görselleştirme vb. birçok teknik ve güncel konuyu kapsayacak özelliklere sahip olarak geliştirilmiştir.
