Abstract: In contrast to blood-oxygenation-level-dependent (BOLD) functional MRI (fMRI), which relies on changes in blood flow and oxygenation levels to infer brain activity, diffusion fMRI (DfMRI) investigates brain dynamics by monitoring alterations in the Apparent Diffusion Coefficient (ADC) of water.
