Abstract:Optical lateral forces (OLFs) play progressively important
roles
in optical manipulation, finding numerous applications in enantioselective
sorting and sensing. Probing OLFs on achiral particles is also essential
in interpreting extraordinary light–matter interactions. Recent
advances have shown that the OLF can emerge from the transverse Belinfante
spin momentum (BSM) and get maximum values when the light is circularly
polarized. Here, by searching the Poincaré sphere, we find
that the optical gradient force… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
