A dynamic detection system was established by cross-inclined borehole electrical resistivity tomography (ERT), in order to monitor the water flow in Ordivician limestone (0LS) during development process of working face. The following approaches were adopted by the detection system. First, two inclined boreholes were constructed in the transportation roadway, and the metal joints of the cables were coupled to the surrounding rock of the boreholes by attaching the cables to metal sheets and grouting. Second, with a self-designed cable protection device, the cables were led out of the borehole to prevent the cables from being damaged by high-pressure grouting. Finally, supporting trenches were established in the transportation tunnel to prevent the cables from breaking down due to the falling of rock from the roof. During the development process of working face, data were acquired in five times. Combined with the distribution of the mine pressure and hydrogeological conditions, the abnormal areas with a low resistivity were accurately interpreted from the detection results, providing an early warning for the water inrush events from the floor.

The enormous development of the technology of raw material extraction drives the economic companies and technicians to make efforts to meet the needs of consumers. These efforts directly influence the nature, creating voids or cavities in the soil and subsoil inducing a structure disturbance and subsequently giving damages. A landslide of the Kef Essenoun phosphate deposit occurred in 2007 when large mass of rocks detached caused a number of undesired and negative effects. To analyze this deformation, a two-dimensional (2D) electrical tomography with the Wenner and Schlumberger device was deployed, using equipment of Syscal Pro 48 type for the implementation of an electrical profile, through a transect length of 140 m with electrode spacing of 3m and a depth of investigation that measures 32 m to the center. Data processing was carried using out RES2DINV software and the results allowed to map visible cracks of a high resistivity value of 890 Ωm as well as low values of 6 Ωm for marls and clays. In addition, phenomena have been evidenced due to tectonic (rough terrain) on one side and sliding on the other.

Non-destructive test which refers to electrical resistivity method is recently popular in engineering Ujian tak musnah yang merujuk kepada kaedah kerintangan elektrik semakin banyak digunakan dalam kajian kejuruteraan, alam sekitar, arkeologi dan perlombongan. Berdasarkan kajian terdahulu, interpretasi keputusan kerintangan elektrik sering diperdebatkan disebabkan kekurangan bukti kajian dalam perspektif kuantitatif. Kebiasaannya interpretasi keputusan kerintangan elektrik banyak bergantung kepada perspektif kualitatif justeru berkemungkinan besar berisiko tinggi untuk menghasilkan keputusan yang salah. Maka, kajian ini telah menjalankan uji kaji makmal kerintangan elektrik tanah disokong oleh uji kaji sifat asas fizikal tanah seperti uji kaji taburan saiz zarah (d), kandungan lembapan (w), ketumpatan (ρ bulk ) dan had Atterberg (LL, PL dan PI). Uji kaji dijalankan untuk menghasilkan satu siri nilai kerintangan elektrik (ERV) berdasarkan kuantiti air yang berbeza terhadap lempung berkelodak dan kelodak berpasir dalam keadaan longgar dan juga mampat. Hasil keputusan menunjukkan nilai kerintangan tanah adalah berbeza dalam keadaan longgar (L) dan mampat (C) serta variasi kandungan air dan juga ketumpatan (pasir berkelodak = ERV = 638.8ρ -0.418 , w (D) = 1397.1ρ -0.574
